Mr. Bryan Hilburn, Hills Academy Headmaster

Mr. Bryan Hilburn was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. While he and his family are devoted University of Oklahoma fans, he proudly followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather by attending Langston University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in 2001. Shortly thereafter, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where his passion for mentorship began.

In his early years in Atlanta, Mr. Hilburn served as a foster parent and director of a boys’ group home, an experience that deeply influenced his calling to work with youth. He went on to become a paraprofessional with DeKalb County Schools, where his work with students and families helped reveal his true purpose as an educator and mentor.

Motivated by this calling, Mr. Hilburn enrolled in Walden University’s Master of Education program. While completing his graduate studies, he was hired as a provisional special education teacher at Oak View Elementary School. During his time there, he founded a male mentorship program and was elected department chair, serving in that role for three years.

After earning his teaching certification in special education for math and science, Mr. Hilburn taught in both Gwinnett and Rockdale County schools as a co-teacher in special education classrooms.

Driven by a deep passion for helping middle school boys reach their full potential, Mr. Hilburn, alongside his wife Tiffany, founded Hills Academy in 2017—a private Christian school for boys located in Rockdale County. He currently serves as Headmaster and is committed to partnering with families and the community to deliver a high-quality, purpose-driven educational experience that positively impacts every student..
